Daily Itinerary

We organize Hameau Artist Retreats based on registration. We use the information you give us in your registration to decide on morning and field demonstrations, as well as excursions to other locations.

Certain demos may use a specific medium, but Susan has the unique ability to make her demos relatable for artists of all mediums.

All artists of all levels are welcome, including professionals.

We finalize the itinerary a few weeks ahead of the retreat, but the basic schedule looks like this:

Tuesday - Thursday

You should arrive at the Hameau Kitchen by 9am for the morning Meet & Greet, even if you're not eating breakfast with us

8:30am - 9:30am Enjoy a country breakfast while getting to know your instructors and the artists

9:30am - 10:30am Morning Demonstration

10:30am - 1:00pm Personal Time Painting: Instructors available in the Field and Studio

1:00pm - 2:00pm Healthy nutritional lunch for the working artist

2:00pm - 5:30pm There will be plenty of free time for painting in the fields, or from the panoramic Hameau Studio Deck, in the shade by Kish Creek, or on excursions to other locations in The Big Valley, such as Brookmere Vineyards, Jacks Mountain, or The Belleville Amish Market. Susan Nicholas Gephart will assist and demonstrate "Plein Air" painting and will also be painting and drawing. She welcomes artists observing her techniques, working along side her, and asking questions.

5:30pm End of the day review and critique

7:00pm - Till the cows come home Gourmet dinner, wine, and artistic conversation​
